About us? – well, it’s really all about you, after all it is your day. But, there are a couple of things you probably want to know about us first…
Perth wedding photographers, A&C Photography – is Anne & Chris Percival. Yes, we’re married, we work together, live together and love working as wedding photographers. We shot our first wedding together over 25 years ago and we still get excited about bringing our fine art images to life.
We only take on 40 weddings each year – this ensures we can dedicate the time required (we invest about 100 hours into each wedding) to produce beautiful fine art images and albums.
When you invite us to be with you on your special day, you’re not just hiring someone to take pictures, you are hiring 2 people who know what love is, who are passionate about what they do, who are determined to portray the story of your day in images that will be treasured for many lifetimes to come.
Think about it… after your wedding day is long gone, all that is left of it are you, your spouse and your photographs, simple snapshots cannot do justice. So, the same care should be taken choosing your wedding photographer as you would finding your perfect dress or the type of cake you select or the color and style of your bridesmaid’s dresses.
We’re an award winning member of AAPP (Australian Accredited Professional Photographers) and members of WPPI ( Wedding & Portrait Photographers International) so you can be assured our work is of high quality.
Most couples today don’t want their wedding photography to be ‘posed’ or ‘staged’, but rather to show realism and reflect the tone of the celebration itself but, point a camera at them and most people instantly feel awkward. So, we take the time to get to know you a little before the day with a pre-wedding shoot, this helps to put you at ease on your wedding day as you see how much fun it can be to have us make beautiful images of you and how we do what we do before the big day.
Our style is a mixture really, having 2 people focussed on you on your wedding day means we are primed and ready to capture those beautiful ‘candid’ moments. But we don’t recommend using only a candid style of wedding photography for if something is missed, it is gone. We prefer an ‘illustrative style’ – this simply means placing you in certain settings to take advantage of good lighting or backgrounds, then, once the general scene is set, you are free to be yourselves, this results in images with a more spontaneous feel – allowing us to take advantage of our artistic judgement and ‘create’ beautiful images of your day.
In other words we allow you to ‘be yourself’ on your day but with subtle, gentle direction we can ensure you look beautiful, your wedding photographs look natural and full of emotion with the minimum of fuss and intrusion. For a photographer, the wedding day is like a sheet of canvas. He is a visual artist – the way he captures your wedding day is the way you will remember it for the rest of your life.
So, give us a call or send us an email – let’s get together for a coffee, we’d love to hear about the plans you have for your special day.
