Alex + Courtenay tie the knot

Alex + Courtenay tie the knot

It was fun to watch Alex & Courtenay tie the knot – literally.  As Courtenay is in the Navy then honoured an old maritime tradition and tied two pieces of rope together, one red and one blue to symbolise the 2 of them getting hitched.

There may have been a nervous groom first thing in the morning but his 3 groomsmen kept the mood light with lots of joking and messing around.

The girls were enjoying their morning preparing for the wedding too – but with Alex’s twin sister as a bridesmaid we had to do a double take a few times as to which girl was the bride – we were glad when Alex put on her gown – no mistaking her now! There was lots of laughter and some tears as emotions ran high and two very proud parents when they saw Alex dressed ready to become a wife. We made use of some gorgeous window light for a couple of portrait shots of Alex.

The wedding ceremony was on the banks of The Swan River at Blackwall Reach just south of Point Walter – a very pretty spot under the canopy of some lovely trees and decorated with some rustic decor by Tie The Knot. Loved watching Courtenay’s face as his beautiful bride walked towards him.

After the ceremony we went with the bride and groom with their bridal party to a few pretty spots along the river for some photos. Our favourite spot was Point Walter spit – the tide was low and we could walk out a fair distance along the sand bank, which was great when sunset happened as it was spectacular in every direction – it was hard to stop capturing images there to go back into the reception.

The wedding reception as Walters River Cafe was adorable, very cute decor all around, it was a simple cocktail affair with yummy food and a relaxed atmosphere, the happy couple enjoyed mingling with their guests and enjoying each other’s company.

All in all, it was a magical day from start to finish. Congratulations again Mr and Mrs Brockman.

We’ve chosen a few of our favourite images from their wedding day and enhanced them, we do this for every image that goes into an album or is requested as a print. They appear below. They are sequenced to give you a little snippet into their joy filled day. We finish images in black & white as well as colour. Personally we love black & white images, they are so timeless.

Choosing favourite images from a wedding is really hard, there are usually several, but, if we had to pick one from this wedding, it would be the one of the new Mr & Mrs walking along the beach at sunset – or the one of them dancing on the beach, or the silhouette at sunset on the beach…  we could go on, there are too many favourites, can’t choose just one!

We hope you love our favourites as much as we do.
