Amy + Kris’ Christ Church Claremont wedding

Amy + Kris’ Christ Church Claremont wedding

Amy + Kris’ Christ Church Claremont wedding was lovely – sometimes people ask if we get bored of weddings; and even though we shoot weddings most weekends, we certainly never get bored, they are full of too much love, fun and excitement to ever get boring. And even though every wedding has similarities, they are all so different.

Amy + Kris’ big day started with the boys at Rendesvouz Hotel in Scarborough, Kris and his groomsmen and ushers got ready there, many of them had travelled from England to be with him on this important day, Scarborough Beach was a perfect place for them to enjoy, there are definitely no beaches in England like Scarborough. After some fun with the boys, we left them to enjoy the rest of their morning whilst we headed off to see the girls.

Amy and her girls got ready at her parent’s home in Hillarys, they were all excited and looking lovely in their matching dressing gowns, sipping champagne. Amy put on her wedding gown and looked stunning, after her mum and bridesmaids fussed over her to make sure everything was perfect it was time for her dad to see his little girl – a few emotional tears of love, pride and joy were shed (one of our favourite moments of any wedding day). After capturing some family photos and stunning portraits of Amy in her dress we left them to spend a little time savouring the moment of what was about to happen.

Their ceremony was held at Christ Church in Claremont, a beautiful church on a busy intersection not far from the city. There is no flash photography allowed in this church, but we don’t mind, the high wooden ceilings, beautiful headlight windows and limestone walls create a beautiful light inside and the higher ISO required to capture the images add a beautiful quality to the images.

We then headed with the couple and their bridal party to John Oldham Park for some fun and beautiful images – it’s a great little park near our city of Perth that does not require lots of walking, which is great when the girls have high heels, this bride was very sensible though and opted for some very beautiful, pearl adorned flats.

We spent a little time amongst the trees opposite the Old Swan Brewery for some images too, the light there late in the afternoon can be quite stunning.

They chose Zafferano’s restaurant for their wedding reception where they and their guests enjoyed a meal, a few drinks, great music and dancing to help the newly married couple celebrate their union.

All in all, it was a magical day from start to finish. Congratulations again Mr and Mrs Eccles.

We’ve chosen a few of our favourite images from their wedding day and enhanced them, we do this for every image that goes into an album or is requested as a print. They appear below. They are sequenced to give you a little snippet into their joy filled day. We finish images in black & white as well as colour. Personally we love black & white images, they are so timeless.

Choosing favourite images from a wedding is really hard, there are usually several, but, if we had to pick one from this wedding, it would be the one the ‘kiss goodnight’ in black and white – love it!

We hope you love our favourites as much as we do.
