Ashley + Ty’s Caversham House wedding
We were so happy to be chosen as the photographers for Ashley + Ty’s Caversham House wedding in March this year. They are the most lovely people and the cutest couple. The weather forecast was for rain, but Ashley + Ty had their heart set on a garden wedding, on the limestone staircase in Caversham House, which is such a romantic setting. Even though the safety of the glass house was available, they decided to take their chance and have the wedding as planned, in the garden and hope the rain held off.
They both made their preparations at their respective parent’s homes, everything was just perfect. They were both excited to be marrying their most favourite person in the world. The boys even found time to have a bit of fun (and a nice relax) in the spa before heading to the ceremony. Ashley looked stunning in her gown, which no one had seen (except mum of course). When the bridesmaids laid eyes on their bride there were tears of happiness and excitement flowed. Of course, when dad saw her a few more tears were shed, we do love the moment a father sees his daughter for the first time in her wedding gown. After capturing some great images of our gorgeous couple (including some with the family dog) we headed for Caversham House for the ceremony.
Rain was threatening, Caversham were set up in the garden and in the glass house, the weather was to be unpredictable at this point so Ty was given the responsibility of making the call – glass house or garden – after much debate, he decided on the garden as that is what he and Ashley had wanted. The ceremony started (with umbrellas at the ready just in case) and our gorgeous couple had a beautiful ceremony with only the very lightest of fine mist rain for a few minutes during the ceremony – so their wish for a ceremony on the romantic staircase was a reality – happy times.
As soon as the ceremony finished however, the rain came a little harder, we spent the next hour or so dodging showers, sheltering under umbrellas and trees. We are not bothered by a bit of rain though, we don’t mind getting wet and we can get some fabulous photos in the rain. Our happy couple and their bridal party were awesome and so much fun to be with.
Their reception was held in the marquee and the decor was stunning. They enjoyed some lovely, touching speeches and a yummy meal and then celebrated with their first dance and party time.
We even managed some bloopers – one bridesmaid taking a tumble whilst walking down a slippery ramp, followed by one of the photographers who managed to crack 2 ribs in the process, or the bump on the cheek for the bridesmaid from the groomsman who gallantly jumped to save her but managed to hit her in the face with a bottle of beer, brought a tear to her eye for a few seconds but no real harm done – none of this action was caught on camera though (thankfully) so it may not have really happened – but it has provided for some entertaining of colleagues, whether or not it actually happened.
All in all, it was a magical day from start to finish. Congratulations again Mr and Mrs Gabrielson.
We’ve chosen a few of our favourite images from their wedding day and enhanced them, we do this for every image that goes into an album or is requested as a print. They appear below. They are sequenced to give you a little snippet into their joy filled day. We finish images in black & white as well as colour. Personally we love black & white images, they are so timeless.
Choosing favourite images from a wedding is really hard, there are usually several, but, if we had to pick one from this wedding, it would be the one of them in front of the ivy covered wall at Caversham House, with Ashley’s veil blowing in the breeze.
We hope you love our favourites as much as we do.
