Holly and Adam’s South Perth wedding
at The Scented Gardens
A wedding to remember, that was Holly + Adam’s South Perth wedding, full of so much emotion, surrounded by love, it was a pleasure to capture the memories for this gorgeous couple.
The boys made their preparations at Holly + Adam’s home in Victoria Park. Everything was perfect, the boys got ready and looked fantastic in their charcoal grey, 3 piece suits. The groomsmen wearing a royal blue tie to match the bridesmaid’s dress and our handsome groom wearing a white tie to match his bride. Adam’s family were cooking up a storm for him and his groomsmen by the time we left, the certainly weren’t going to turn up to the ceremony hungry. It was almost impossible to leave with the smell of bacon wafting through the house.
When we arrived at Holly’s mum’s home everything there was also running on schedule. Holly’s hair, which was done in a beautiful soft braid, was finished and the finishing touches of makeup were being done. We busied ourselves photographing some of Holly’s smaller outfit details which included a pair of royal blue shoes she’d had handmade in the USA. Once Holly was dressed and ready it was time for a reveal. Her uncle was given the honourable task of escorting her down the isle. This was made even more special as it was that same uncle who escorted Holly’s mum down the isle when she married Holly’s dad. It was almost like a double reveal as Holly had no idea what her uncle would be wearing. Upon seeing each other for the first time that day, all dressed and ready to head down the isle, there was laughter and tears of joy. Holly’s mum certainly couldn’t hide the pride in her eyes. This is the reason we love weddings so much, we get to share a part of people’s lives that is just so special.
The ceremony, which was at the Scented Gardens on the South Perth Foreshore, was simple and sweet. There was an especially touching moment when, at the beginning of the ceremony, Holly + Adam lit a candle for Holly’s dad, we’re sure Holly felt his presence and that he would be so proud of her on this day.
There was the threat of rain on their wedding day, but that didn’t happen, instead, at a certain point in the ceremony, a gentle breeze went up into the trees and a shower of petals and leaves gently fell upon the ceremony. It felt as if a Master hand had something to do with that.
On the conclusion of the ceremony, Holly + Adam literally danced up the isle as the new Mr & Mrs as all of their guests blew bubbles towards them.
We went with the happy couple and their bridal party to John Oldham Park for their location photography and then headed to The Old Brewery. The couple were boarding a private boat from the jetty there to arrive at the reception venue in style. The boat ride as an opportunity for them to spend time together and savour the fact that they had just become husband and wife.
They arrived just in time to capture some sunset shots on the jetty before heading into their reception.
They say every wedding has to have a little glitch. As things were being passed from the boat to the jetty at their arrival, Adam’s grip slipped on Holly’s shoes and he accidentally dropped one of them in the river. Our distraught bride gave a scream but the quick thinking of Adam saved the day when he fished it out using a boat hook. Blue dye ran from the shoe and onto the jetty, I wonder if the stain will be there in years to come. Luckily Holly had packed some flat shoes to wear later in the evening so she didn’t have to make her entrance barefoot.
The reception at South of Perth Yacht Club was lovely. There were the most beautiful speeches, good food and lots of dancing to celebrate this amazing day.
All in all, it was a magical day from start to finish. Congratulations again Mr and Mrs Harvey.
We’ve chosen a few of our favourite images from their wedding day and enhanced them, we do this for every image that goes into an album or is requested as a print, they appear below. We finish images in black & white as well as colour, when ordering prints, just let us now which you’d prefer.
Choosing favourite images from a wedding is really hard, there are usually several, but, if we had to pick one from this wedding, it would be the one we took of them kissing on the jetty at The Old Brewery.
We hope you love our favourites as much as we do.
