wedding photos on an equestrian estate
We started the day with the boys up at The Vines Resort where they were getting ready for Will’s big day. He was accompanied by his 2 groomsmen and 1 groomslady and they shared lots of laughs as they dressed in traditional Scottish kilts for the day. Will’s Pop was also there for the morning, obviously well loved and a big part of Will’s life, it was nice he could be there to share the morning. We loved the fact that Will chose to wear a different colour tartan to his attendants.
The girls, meanwhile, were getting ready at Brookleigh in their chateaux style accommodation. We love this venue because of its beauty and space. She shared her morning with her 5 bridesmaids, her parents, close family members and an adorable little flowergirl. Kirstie looked stunning in her gown and ruby red shoes. Her grandmother given the honour of attaching the lucky ‘sixpence in her shoe’.
Their ceremony was held outdoors in the gazebo next to the lake on the grounds of Brookleigh. There was a small delay in the proceedings as the celebrant headed to a nearby venue with a very similar name, an easy mistake to make. We tell all of our couples that whilst you plan everything perfectly for their big day, on the actual day things can go a little astray. If and when they do, just go with the flow and don’t stress. Our couple were amazing and neither let this small delay take away from their excitement of the day. When Douglas arrived it was everything back to normal. Due to their Scottish heritage they kept their ceremony traditional with a Quaich, a handfasting and the use of an oathing stone.
After they were husband and wife they enjoyed congratulations from their guests and some family photos before heading off to create some beautiful photos of them with their bridal party. We stayed on the grounds of Brookleigh for their bridal party photos, there really isn’t any need to go anywhere else when choosing this venue for a ceremony and reception, there are plenty of places on the grounds for a wide variety of images.
When the sun went down we headed into the wedding reception at Stewart’s Restaurant. The evening was enjoyed by all, from the touching speeches to the dancing. Will’s Pop was asked to give a speech, but chose instead to play his violin, for which he received a standing ovation, and rightly so, he was awesome.
We love sharing in Kirstie + Will’s special day, it was magical from start to finish. Congratulations again Mr and Mrs Scott.
We’ve chosen a few of our favourite wedding photos of theirs to show in our blog. The rest of the images are in their gallery. We hope you love our favourites as much as we do.
Choosing a favourite image from a wedding is really hard, there are usually many, but, if we had to pick one from this wedding, it would be the one them on the little jetty on the lake next to their wedding ceremony location.
We hope you love our favourites as much as we do.
