Rume + Josh’s St Alban’s Church Highgate wedding

Rume + Josh’s St Alban’s Church Highgate wedding

Great weather and a gorgeous couple made this wedding day perfect. They chose a St Alban’s Church Highgate wedding ceremony, it’s a beautiful little church on a main street, but set back behind some trees so it’s quite a peaceful setting even though it’s in a busy spot.

We started our day early though at Rume + Josh’s home in Guildford, the boys were up early as they still had a huge list of chores to get through in order to ensure everything was ready for the reception being held there later that evening. We kept our time there short so we could let them get on with their long list of tasks, but not before we had some fun and captured some great shots of Josh with his groomsmen.

Rume was at her parents home to get ready, we arrived to the normal wedding day chaos of girls flitting here and there with makeup and hair being done, nails being polished and dresses steamed ready for the big moment. Rume looked stunning in her personally designed wedding gown and her father was moved by the beautiful bride that was his daughter.

It was a little warm inside the church when we arrived, everybody was busy fanning themselves waiting for the beautiful bride to arrive but when the bride arrived everyone forgot the warm temperature as they watched her become this gorgeous couple become Mr & Mrs. A touching moment at the end of the ceremony was the bride’s sister, she sang a song and played ukulele – it was lovely.

After some family photos outside the church and then some shots of the bride and groom inside the church we headed to Guildford to create some stunning images of the bride and groom with their bridal party in and around the historical buildings there and down at Barker’s Bridge so we could make use of the amazing sky.

We then went to Rume + Josh’s home in Guildford, where Josh carried his bride over the threshold in a very old fashioned but beautiful celebration of their union. The marquee was stunning, lots of pretty things adorning everywhere, handmade items, beautiful old china ware, lots of old couches scattered about for the guests, a lolly buffet (always a hit) it all looked stunning. The evening was a great success with everyone enjoying a sumptuous meal, fun on the dance floor, a beautiful first dance by the bride and grok and fun in a photo booth.

All in all, it was a magical day from start to finish. Congratulations again Mr and Mrs Gould.

We’ve chosen a few of our favourite images from their wedding day and enhanced them, we do this for every image that goes into an album or is requested as a print. They appear below. They are sequenced to give you a little snippet into their joy filled day. We finish images in black & white as well as colour. Personally we love black & white images, they are so timeless.

Choosing favourite images from a wedding is really hard, there are usually several, but, if we had to pick one from this wedding, it would be the one of them in the field, with the amazing late afternoon sky as a backdrop.

We hope you love our favourites as much as we do.
